WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - Residents in West Warwick have split over the town budget for 2010.

Cheers erupted after residents rejected the school's proposed budget, which was over $49 million. Critics said it needed a lot of trimming to make it affordable.

However, residents did approve the municipal budget, which is just over $30 million.

Its passage mean property taxes in the town will increase.
