NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - Police in North Kingstown continue to investigate after a teenaged boy is shot by police.

Police were called to a home on Tower Hill Road Sunday where they said 18-year-old Mark Kilcline charged officers with a knife, and when a taser didn't stop him, officers were forced to shoot him.

Kilcline remains in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital.

A police officer was also injured in the incident after he was accidentally hit by a stray bullet.

Right now, police are not saying how many rounds were fired or how many officers shot at the 18-year-old.

Rhode Island State Police are investigating and all officers involved have been put on desk duty as the investigation continues.
