Local swimmers make 'Polar Bear Plunge'

NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) - It's definitely not beach weather out there, but that didn't stop many dedicated swimmers on New Year's Day!

Hundreds of people throughout New England took part in several "Polar Bear Plunges", from Newport to Warwick and in Westerly. They're all for a good cause, because the money raised all goes to various charities.
