Worcester man is under investigation

WORCESTER, R.I. (AP/WPRI) - A Massachusetts man has been charged with conspiring to support terrorism.
Police say Tarek Mehanna, 27, is a math and religion teacher at a Muslim middle school in Worcester.
His colleagues at the Alhuda Academy say they cannot believe the allegations against the scholar.
Prosecutors say Mehanna sought training at terror camps, discussed plans to target U.S. troops in Iraq and two politicians, and planned to randomly shoot shoppers at U.S. malls.
He was arrested at his parents house on Wednesday. His father says his son is innocent.
