PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Governor Donald Carcieri, House Speaker William Murphy, and presumptive Senate President Teresa Paiva-Weed appear to be putting their heads together to help solve the state's financial crisis.

Governor Carcieri Thursday met with Murphy and Paiva-Weed in separate closed-door session to begin crafting a plan to fix the worst budget deficit in state history. Although no one is revealing what was said at the meetings, they did say that every proposal will be considered.

Rhode Island faces at $357 million dollar deficit in the current fiscal year budget.

That number is expected to grow to as much as $450 million next fiscal  year.
