Fall River, Mass. (WPRI) - Fall River Police say they caught a man accused of robbing a Rite Aid Pharmacy shortly after the crime occurred and recovered the exact amount of money stolen from the store.
The clerk at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on South Main Street told police the suspect showed a handgun and demanded cash just before 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The man then fled the store with the cash.
Only a short time later a man matching the suspect's description was found nearby in the area of Plymouth Avenue and Tecumseh Street. Once taken into custody police report finding 208 dollars, the exact amount of money stolen from the Rite Aid, in the suspect's back pocket. The gun used in the hold-up was not found. Police also took the suspect back to the Rite Aid where the clerk confirmed the suspect was the man who robbed the store.
Police have not identified the suspect, but he has been charged with armed robbery.
