PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - When the stimulus package arrives in Rhode Island, RIDOT has about fifty so-called "shovel ready" projects, ready to use the money. The bidding process will roll out online.
The projects, once certified by the governor, will be posted to an online calendar of projects and bidding deadlines. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is preparing the calendar, in connection with the Governor's Office of Economic Recovery and Reinvestment (OERR).
The calendar, at the RIDOT website, will be updated to advertise as many as ten projects a week, alerting contractors to what's coming available and deadlines for submitting bids.
