RI could have new senate leader soon

NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Island could have a new senate leader by next week.

Our news partners at The Providence Journal report Senate Majority Leader Theresa Paiva-Weed is gunning for the president's seat.

She has called a caucus on Monday to choose new senate leadership.

Current Senate President Joseph Montalbano lost his bid for re-election to Independent Ed O'Neil.
