PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Police in Providence continue to investigate a stabbing at a
dance club early Sunday morning.
It happened at Level 2 on Richmond Street.
Terrence McNamara, a bouncer at the club was stabbed in the back
and taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
The victim says a bar-goer got out of control and threw a drink
on another customer.
When McNamara approached the man to remove him from the club,
that's when McNamara says the unruly customer stabbed him and then
ran out of the club.
The knife was found in the parking lot and police continue to
look for the suspect.
The club has videotape from inside but was unable to provide the
police with footage right away.
The police, who have had issues with the club in the past, will
discuss what actions they may seek before the city Board of
Licenses.
In December, the board ordered a 30-day suspension of the club's
liquor license after earlier violence at the club.
