DosReis: Judge's presence played role in divorce

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The contentious court case between the former driver of retired Supreme Court Justice Frank Williams and her husband came to a tentative conclusion Tuesday in family court.

Pamela and Frank DosReis settled the case in a chamber hearing before Family Court Chief Judge Jeremiah S. Jeremiah Jr., in which the couple will share custody of their 6-year old daughter.

The decision also keeps in effect a temporary restraining order that prevents the former chief justice, who is Godfather to the girl, from visitation until the divorce is finalized in three months.

The case burst onto the scene last month when Frank DosReis claimed Williams' presence in the family’s life played a role in their divorce.

The claim led to a successful restraining order against the former chief justice who stepped aside from his retirement duties as a judge in the wake of the scandal.
