PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The man who was shot early Friday morning at the corner of Broad and Aldrich Streets died from his injuries overnight, Providence police confirmed.
According to Providence police, the victim, a 26-year-old man, was found around 1:15 a.m. with gunshot wounds to his torso.
Emergency crews rushed the unidentified man to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:43 a.m.
Police said the man had a verbal confrontation with the shooting suspect inside Club Platinum on Broad St. However, investigators have not said if a suspect is in custody.
Officers, they said, are in the process of questioning eyewitnesses.
