PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - State lawmakers burned the midnight oil casting their final votes on several high profile bills, including one that would create Patriots license plates.

During a nine hour session on Thursday, the House and Senate approved the bill.

Governor Donald Carcieri now has to give signature of approval.

The license plate would cost $40 with an additional $10 renewal fee.

Profits would be split between the cash strapped State and team charities.
