PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A city councilwoman from Central Falls pleaded not guilty in Providence District Court Friday morning to charges of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
Lincoln police arrested Eunice De La Hoz June 26 on Great Rd. Officers said after they pulled her over for driving eratically, she failed several field sobriety tests.
Sleeping in the back seat was De La Hoz's young son, police said.
According to the police report, De La Hoz told the arresting officer, "I'm on the city council in Central Falls and I know my rights. I do not have to do anything."
Her trial is set for July 31.
