PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Providence police are investigating an apparent shooting outside The Cadillac Lounge, a popular strip club on Charles St.
Police were called to the club Sunday morning for reports of a gun shot.
According to the police report , officers said they found bloody clothing in the parking lot and blood stains on the pavement. Several eyewitnesses also said they heard a gun shot.
The report goes on to say that bouncers chased a patron in the lot, but those bouncers could not be located by the time police arrived.
According to officers, there are seven cameras pointing into the parking lot and rear entrance of the club, however managers refused to let police view video surveillance of the parking lot.
Brockton Police confirm a victim was driven to a hospital there, treated for a gun shot wound to the leg, and released. A friend of the victim said his friend ws shot at The Cadillac Lounge.
The Cadillac Lounge has been the focus of an ongoing FBI investigation for about two years.
According to sources, that probe centers around former Providence city employee Edward "Buckles" Melise.
Investigators are looking into Melise's alledged attempt to get the strip club a liquor license through political influence.
