SEEKONK, Mass., (WPRI) - Rainy forecasts have lead customers to the tanning booths, increasing business at local tanning salons.
Many new customers are giving artificial tanning a try for the first time with the forecast calling for a few more days of grey skies.
A local Seekonk business, Sun Seekers Tanning salon, has seen increasing sales over the past month. Drea Krasnianski, a manager at the local tanning salon, told Eyewitness News that the cloudy weather is keeping the customers coming.
“They want just the spirit to just boost you up, and that’s why we’ve seen a lot of new customers come in,” Krasnianski said.
The salon is taking advantage of the poor weather with package deals and specials. The salon says they saw 50-60 customers Thursday morning alone.
Sun Seekers Tanning reported that sales are up thirty percent from last year.
“Every customer that has come in has always complained
about the weather either saying it’s supposed to be sunny or
it’s not sunny, and just how depressing it is,”
Krasnianski said.
