Sick kids at Hasbro Children’s Hospital received a special treat. A New England Patriots defensive lineman stopped by today to bring some holiday cheer.
Jarvis Green visited those patients Tuesday morning. He was in Providence to support the success of the hospital's "change bandits" fundraising campaign.
Green met with school kids who helped raise money during the campaign. He then surprised young patients at the hospital by signing autographs and handing out backpacks filled with lunch boxes, basketballs and numbered jerseys.
The Pats star founded the Jarvis Green Foundation, a non profit organization that provides support to single working mothers in low-income areas.
Green says his foundation and providing some smiles for sick children helps him remember what's good in life.
"I think it's a great opportunity... And see what these kids are going through every day just makes some of them smile and laugh, that's why I am here today," says Green.
Patients also received a surprise visit today from the Connecticut Sun WNBA team.
