Vice President Joe Biden touched down at T.F. Green Airport in Air Force Two on Thursday evening.
Officials say Biden attended the wake of Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd's sister, Martha (Dodd) Buonanno.
The wake was held at the Monahan Funeral Home located at 230 Waterman Street in Providence.
Vice President Biden and members of the Obama cabinet canceled a trip to the Ocean State for the Mayors' Conference earlier this year because on going dispute with the Providence Firefighters Union.
