A man in New Bedford who lost an arm and a leg relies on a motorized wheelchair to get around.

But, his "life-line" was stolen and now his community is reaching out to help. Friends and even total strangers pitched in to buy Eddie Kramer a new wheelchair. And though he's thankful, he says he wants his old chair back.

Kramer says "I'm stuck here now, you know?"

Like he does almost every night, Eddie Kramer left his wheelchair on the back porch, the next day, it was stolen.

Kramer says, "You got to be a piece of work to steal somebody's wheelchair."

Kramer purchased an electrical wheelchair for 7 thousand dollars, with the help of insurance and Medicare. Standard chairs are hard to manouver with just one arm and one leg, limbs he lost 19 years ago when he was hit by a truck and dragged for miles.

Kramer says he dealt with his injuries years ago, "My attitude is you play the hand you're dealt. I don't feel sorry for myself. i do everything for myself."

Without his chair, simple tasks are now difficult and that's why friends and family are helping Eddie buy a new chair, but what he wants is written on a sign by his house..."please return my wheelchair."

Eddie is getting a new chair Friday, but he wants anyone with information about stolen chair to call 508-324-5489.
