PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Mosquito pools from across the state have tested negative for EEE and West Nile Virus, according to the Department of Environmental Management.

The traps were set during the week off October 5th. As was previously reported, one mosquito pool from a trap set in South Kingstown did tested positive for EEE. With the recent cold weather there are very few mosquitoes left in our area but experts warn that resident to continue protecting themselves by wearing repellent.

So far this year, four mosquito pools have tested positive for EEE, and three mosquito pools have tested positive for West Nile Virus.
