EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Several local TV and radio personalities participated in a charity softball game in East Providence on Saturday to raise money for Rhode Island’s oldest wish-granting organization, A Wish Come True.

WPRI’s own Mike Montecalvo, Susan Hogan, Kathryn Sotnik, and Patrick Little all took bat at Pierce field in East Providence. Their opponents included local Rhode Island radio personalities.

The game helped raised awareness for local children fighting life-threatening illnesses. John Rooke, of A Wish Come True, was happy with the turnout.

“We've been granting wishes to kids, age 3- 18, local children age 3-18 with life-threatening illnesses since 1982,” Rooke said. “The proceeds from this battle of the network All-Stars will go to the children of A Wish Come True."
