LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management was called to the scene of an accident Friday morning in Little Compton.
According to Little Compton's fire chief, a truck overturned on Peckham Rd. near Burchard Ave. and spilled 10 gallons of diesel fuel on the road.
The chief said the truck had a mechanical problem. Emergency crews took the driver to the hospital with minor injuries.
Crews put a drying agent on the fuel to contain the spill, and called in DEM to make sure there's no environmental impact.
