South Kingstown, RI (WPRI) - Funeral preparations have been completed for a Kingston Firefighter killed on duty. 67-year-old Allan “Pickles” LePage will be laid to rest on July 4th, and his wake will be held on July 3rd at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home in Wakefield. He was found unresponsive behind the Kingston Fire Department on Monday. Officials are now investigating his death to determine exactly how LePage was killed.
Kingston Fire officials say LePage’s death was their
department’s first ever on duty fatality, and that other fire
departments in the area have stepped up to offer coverage so their
department can attend his funeral.
