PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has announced a series of overnight lane closures that drivers should be aware of.
The closures will result in the opening of a new Exit 20 to I-195 East from I-95 South.
On December 3- 4 between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. one lane will be closed on I-95 South between Atwells Avenue Exit 21 and the Eddy Street Exit 19.
Then between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., multiple lanes will be closed. RIDOT officials say the closures will allow crews to install overhead signs.
On Friday, December 5th, in the same area, two lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m.
The old Exit 20 will also be closed, and the new Exit 20, which will be approximately 1,000 ft. to the south and on the right, is opened.
All construction work is dependent on weather.
