EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Controversy surrounding Speaker William Murphy's call to revisit a full-fledged casino in Rhode Island.

Presumptive gubernatorial candidate Lincoln Chafee, a guest on Newsmakers, says taking another look at casino gambling, is a bad call.

Chafee, an independent who's expected to run for governor in 2010 says the people of Rhode Island made up their mind on gambling, in 2006.

"Didn't we just have a vote, didn't we just go to the Rhode Island people and ask them that question and they said no? I don't think that's our answer. If we get diverted into quick fixes we'll never get Rhode Island going in the direction we want it to go."
