CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) - A young man was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital Tuesday night, after eyewitnesses said he was stabbed on Broad Street in Central Falls.
It happened near the Navigant Credit Union around 9 p.m. Central Falls Police and Pawtucket Police both responded to the scene.
A woman who lives on Broad Street said police were questioning her 17-year-old son, and had searched her home. She also said police told her the victim was stabbed over a text message. Another eyewitness said the man was stabbed in the back, after two groups of kids started fighting.
A source told Eyewitness News the 18-year-old victim is in serious condition, and may be on a breathing tube. He may be from Lincoln.
Police were seen taking at least one person into custody, but would not confirm many details Tuesday night.
