CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) - A tree has been dedicated in memory of a teacher who was killed earlier this year.

On Monday, students and faculty at Central Falls High School planted a flowering pear tree in memory of beloved teacher, Michael Occhi.

He was killed in a hit and run accident back in July on Peckham Road in Little Compton.

A former Little Compton teacher, Thomas Fennessey, has been charged with drunken driving in connection to that accident.
