Brush fire reported in Barrington
Area currently under Red Flag Fire Warning

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Fire crews were called to a brush fire on Sowams Rd. in Barrington. The call came in around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.
The call intitially came in as a large fire, but when crews got there they found it was on the smaller side.
The call did raise concerns because Rhode Island, with the exception of Block Island, is currently under a Red Flag Warning. The recent dry weather combined with wind gusts of up to 30 mph could create the perfect conditions for brush fires to spread.
