DARTMOUTH, Mass., (WPRI) - One woman is killed after her car is struck on Interstate 195 Wednesday afternoon in Dartmouth, shutting down part of the highway.

Massachusetts State Police said the accident happened around 4:45 pm, after a car driven by 21-year-old Dakota Jones traveling in the west bound lane, crossed the median and struck a car in the east bound lane.

The driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police have identified her as 46-year-old Susan Lepage of New Bedford.

Officials say Jones and one other driver were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford for non-life threatening injuries.

Jones has been arrested and is charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, marked lanes violation and speeding.
