PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP/WPRI) - Several Rhode Island beaches, including beaches in Barrington, North Kingstown, Warwick and several others, are closed to swimming, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Officials say the recent heavy rains have caused the recent closings.
The following beaches are closed:
Barrington Town
Camp Fuller – YMCA Beach
City Park Beach
Goddard Memorial State Park
Misquamicut Club
North Kingstown Town Beach
Oakland Beach
Peabodys Beach
Sandy Point Beach
Warren Town Beach
Camp Canoicus in Exeter and Conimicut Point Beach in Warwick remain closed.
The Department of Health will continue monitoring, and announce when the water is safe.
