PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island is receiving nearly a half-million dollars in federal stimulus funds to provide meals to low-income seniors.
Vice President Joe Biden announced the funding on Wednesday.
Rhode Island's congressional delegation said the $485,000 will help reduce the waiting list for the state's Meals-on-Wheels program from 150 to 60.
They said senior citizens are especially vulnerable because many are on fixed incomes.
