PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gov. Don Carcieri is expected to join religious leaders from across Rhode Island at a Statehouse vigil for the victims of last week's terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India.

On Thursday evening, clergy from different faiths plan to give speeches and honor the victims with a candlelight vigil. A member of the India Consulate is scheduled to speak, and organizers will read a message from New England Israel Consulate General Nadav Tamir.

Over three days last week, 10 suspected Islamic militants killed 171 people and injured more than 300 others in assaults on upscale hotels and other sites across India's financial capital.
