PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The sentencing of a former hospital president convicted of corruption in Providence has been postponed by a week.
Robert Urciuoli was scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Providence.
Instead, he'll now be sentenced on April 7. The reason for the delay was not immediately clear.
Urciuoli, the former president and chief executive of Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, was convicted last fall of buying the influence of former state Sen. John Celona.
It was his second trial. His convictions from the first trial was thrown out last year by a federal appeals court in Boston.
Urciuoli will be sentenced on one count of conspiracy and 35 counts of mail fraud.
