BOSTON (AP) - Prosecutors in the kidnapping trial of the man who calls himself Clark Rockefeller have agreed not to tell the jury that he is a "person of interest" in the 1985 disappearance of a California couple.
But they want the jury to hear dramatic statements made by a social worker who saw the man allegedly kidnap his 7-year-old daughter.
After jury selection wrapped up, Prosecutors argued Wednesday they should be allowed to play the social worker's 911 call and a statement he made to a private detective hired to watch the father-daughter visit.
The social worker said: "He's got her! He took her. He took her."
The judge did not immediately rule.
Rockefeller's real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter. Authorities say he has used multiple aliases since moving to the United States in 1978.
Opening statements in the trial are expected to begin Thursday.
