BOSTON, MASS., (WPRI) - His father, famed Rhode Island attorney John Cicilline, is trying to get a judge in Boston to release his son from prison early.

Cicilline claims the U.S. Bureau of Prisons violated his due-process rights in assigning when he would be released from a halfway house.

And that it did not take into consideration that he was trying to save his house and family.

John Cicilline, brother to Providence Mayor David Cicilline is currently serving an eighteen month sentence for shaking down his drug-dealing clients for cash.

He's scheduled to be freed on supervised release this February.
