PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A highway exit in Providence is switching sides.

Motorists who have long traveled on stretches of Interstates 95 and 195 through the city should expect changes this fall as the relocation of parts of I-195 -- the so-called Iway project -- continues.

The biggest of the changes announced yesterday was that southbound drivers on I-95 who normally cling to the left hand lanes on their way to I-195 East will now exit on a ramp on the right side of the road instead.

That ramp, which will still be called Exit 20, is slated to open in early December. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has detailed the expected changes for the rest of the year.

Maps and suggested detours for other ramp closures throughout the city are at www.dot.ri.gov .
