PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A highway exit in Providence is switching sides.
Motorists who have long traveled on stretches of Interstates
95 and 195 through the city should expect changes this fall as the
relocation of parts of I-195 -- the so-called Iway project --
continues.
The biggest of the changes announced yesterday was that
southbound drivers on I-95 who normally cling to the left hand
lanes on their way to I-195 East will now exit on a ramp on the
right side of the road instead.
That ramp, which will still be called Exit 20, is slated to
open in early December. The Rhode Island Department of
Transportation has detailed the expected changes for the rest of
the year.
