FAIRHAVEN MA (WPRI) - Police are trying to figure out why one driver hit another head on in a Fairhaven accident. One man was killed in the crash but his wife sitting next to him in the car is recovering.
73 year old Federick Campbell was killed in the crash and his wife Alma was seriously injured. The Campbell's neighbors have nothing but kind words to say about the couple.
Neighbor Shane Joubert says, it's pretty tragic he was just very
nice polite a nice gentlman all around."
Massachusetts State Police are not releasing anymore
information about driver that caused this crash
Police say 52 year old Charles Jones of Charlestown was
driving a 2001 Chevy Tahoe in the breakdown lane of 195 west . When
Jones hit a highway sign then crossed into the east bound lanes
crashing into the Campbell's 2007 Toyota Corrolla.
Saturday night police say the cause of the crash is still under
investigation
It's not known if Jones will be charged in the accident
