EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Eyewitness News Chief Meteorologist Tony Petrarca is being honored with a prestigious award for his more than 25 years in the television field.
The National Television Academy announced it has selected Tony as a recipient for Silver Circle Award.
The Silver Circle is awarded to television professionals with more than 25 years in the industry, who've made significant contributions to their community, the television industry and to individuals training for careers in the field of television.
Earlier this year, Tony celebrated his 25th anniversary at WPRI 12 .
"One reason why I've lasted 25 years is because I take my work seriously, but I don't take myself seriously," Tony said.
Congratulations Tony! It's a well-deserved honor.
