TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- Cooler weather is here but mosquitoes carrying diseases are still a threat.

A sample of mosquitoes collected in Tiverton has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

Health officials in Massachusetts say a horse has been infected with EEE.

Officials warn the mosquito threat will remain until the first hard frost.
