WARREN, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police are investigating the drowning of an elderly man in Warren.
Domingos Silveira, 71, was found unresponsive near the broken bridge in the Kickemuit River just before noon on Saturday.
He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say they were able to identify the victim after his ID was found in his parked car nearby. It's still unknown how he ended up in the water, and whether or not a medical issue played a role in his death.
