TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- A woman was flown by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital after being injured in a car crash.
It happened shortly after 7 p.m. near 191 Stone Church Road. Fire Chief Robert Lloyd tells Eyewitness News that a car went off the road and partially rolled over against a tree, trapping the female driver.
Paramedics had to use the jaws of life to free the woman, a task which took about 30 minutes, and she was then flown to Rhode Island Hospital by a MedFlight helicopter out of Boston.
Lloyd did not identify the victim but says she suffered multiple, non-life-threatening injuries.
