TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Students in Tiverton could soon face Breathalyzer tests at school events.
The town's school committee has unanimously approved a new policy that would allow officials to administer Breathalyzer tests to students who show signs of alcohol consumption at school events.
The results will be part of a student's educational record, but will not be given to police without parental consent.
Parents will be called after a test is administered.
