PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WPRI) -- Classes will start late at least one day a month, beginning this fall.
The Portsmouth school committee approved the plan Tuesday night.
Starting in September, classes will begin one hour and 15 minutes late on the second Wednesday of each month.
Teachers will use the extra time for professional development.
