NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) - The suspect in last year's fire at a Middletown shopping plaza was arraigned in Newport County Superior Court on Tuesday.
Stuart Moody pleaded not guilty to one count of first degree arson and was placed on home confinement.
Prosecutors say Moody set the Tuesday Morning discount store on fire with people inside on January, 5 2011.
Moody worked at the West Main Rd. store at the time.
He was arrested shortly after the fire broke out. Police say he confessed to the crime.
Moody is due back in court next month.
