EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A man accused of stealing a police cruiser has been ordered held without bail.
East Providence police tell us Justin Thomas, 25, held up a Domino's Pizza on Pawtucket Avenue back in November.
When police arrived at the scene, they said Thomas escaped out of the back of the building and fled on foot. While officers chased him, Thomas hopped into one of their police cruisers and tried to drive away.
The suspect proceeded to hit at least two marked police cruisers and an unmarked police car before he was apprehended.
Fortunately, no one was injured, but some of the cruisers suffered heavy damage.
Thomas was arraigned on multiple felony charges, including first degree robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, and resisting arrest.
He's due back in court on Feb. 22.
