LITTLE COMPTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The former treasurer of the Little Compton Little League was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing more than ten thousand dollars from the organization.
Jodi Ibbotson, 49, is charged with embezzlement and fraudulent conversion.
According to police, she had been treasurer of the Little Compton Little League since 2006.
Little Compton Police say Ibbotson confessed to taking the money over an extended period of time after being questioned by investigators.
Officers executed a search warrant at her home on Monday and seized financial records.
Police estimate that more than $10,000 was stolen, but investigators are working with the Little Compton Little League to determine exactly how much money is missing.
