Improvements made to veterans' home

BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Veterans' Home in Bristol received some much needed improvements today.

Dozens of volunteers helped to renew the facility's grounds by painting walls and laying new pavers on walkways.

The hospital has seven courtyards, but due their age and condition, many were unusable to residents.

Now with the help of today's efforts the veteran residents will again be able to safely walk the grounds.

The project was made possible through donations from local businesses as well as resident donations.

State Representative Raymond Gallison helped spearhead the makeover.
