NEWPORT R.I. (WPRI) - People who drive over the Newport Pell Bridge will have until the end of July to adjust to recent lane reconfigurations.
In June, The Rhode Island Turnpike Authority added open road tolling with dedicated lanes for EZpass.
Due to overwhelming confusion about which lanes to use, a grace period was put in place until August 1. After that, drivers who use the wrong lane will receive a $5 per axle fee in the mail.
