PRUDENCE ISLAND, R.I. ( WPRI) - Fire crews in Portsmouth rushed to a fast-moving fire on Prudence Island Tuesday morning.
The Fire Marshall's office confirmed at least one person died in the fire that started inside a home on Concord Avenue. It started just before 8 a.m.
Investigators remain on the scene trying to determine what caused the fire.
According to fire crews who responded, the house was fully involved when they arrived.
Prudence Island has a volunteer fire department, but the Porstmouth Fire Department also responded with their fire boat.
