TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- Test results from a mosquito pool in northern Tiverton have once again come up positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
The mosquitoes were trapped by the Department of Environmental Management on Sept. 24, and health officials revealed the positive EEE results Monday.
EEE was discovered in a northern Tiverton sample earlier in September , and the illness was also discovered in central Tiverton back in August .
Despite the onset of cooler temperatures, the threat of infected mosquitoes remains until there have been two hard frosts in the area.
Officials once again urge Rhode Islanders to protect themselves against mosquito bites, especially between dusk and dawn.
