BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) -- A teenage twin brother and sister organized a vigil for the victims of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Dozens gathered at the ceremony held at St. Mary's Church in Bristol on Friday night.
Chrissy Conley, a student at Bayview Academy, and her brother Brendan, who attends Bishop Hendricken, say there were so heartbroken by last week's tragedy that they had to do something to remember the victims.
"It's almost surreal to be able to experience such a nice thing in such a small town," Brendan told Eyewitness News. "You can only do so much, and it is the least we can do."
"I would tell them [Newtown residents] in these times of discomfort and distraught to come together to each other," Chrissy added.
Parishioners prayed, and lit 26 candles -- one for each of the innocent people killed at the school.
"I am so proud of my children. They are amazing," Pat Conely said. "There's a lot more good in this world than there is bad."
